Yogurt turning before its date, a glaze of ice spreading under the freezer baskets, or a compressor humming through the night? A technician from just down the road works out which part let go and has your fridge holding temperature again.

Between Midhurst and Elmvale, nearly every fridge we open has one of these six faults. Each tag names the components that get tested first.
The freezer still runs cold, yet a fan behind its back wall has stalled, or an iced-over air channel keeps that chill from climbing upstairs.
Defrost has quit cycling, so ice keeps thickening on the coil until it chokes off airflow.
Meltwater is missing its drain because the tube has frozen shut, or a supply connection behind the cabinet has begun to weep.
The tray is going thirsty, usually because the fill valve has weakened, the filter is clogged or the ice module is past its prime.
Ice catching a fan blade, a condenser motor running rough, or a start relay clacking as it kicks the compressor.
Dust-choked condenser coils or a door gasket that no longer seals keep the system chasing its setpoint.
Fridge styles we fix
Whether it came with the house or arrived on a delivery truck last month, chances are our technicians have already had one just like it apart on the workbench.
Most newer fridges flag a fault on the door display. Read yours against the panels below.
Low supply voltage
A brownout dragged the compressor voltage down. Kill the circuit for sixty seconds and switch it back.
Try this firstFridge fan error
Often a door left ajar long enough for the fan to frost over. Unplug, leave the doors open a few hours and restart.
Try this firstDefrost sensor error
The probe that tells the fresh food side when defrost is finished has stopped working.
Call a technicianIce maker function
The ice maker is not completing its fill and harvest routine.
Call a technicianFreezer fan fault
Something is stopping the freezer fan, so cold air no longer circulates.
Call a technicianCommunication error
Signals between the door display and the main board are being dropped.
Call a technicianIce maker sensor
A faulty sensor means the ice maker may stop dispensing altogether.
Call a technicianRoom temperature sensor
The probe measuring the room around the fridge has quit.
Call a technicianCode missing from these panels, or straight back after a power cycle? A technician needs to test it.

Our freezer had turned into an igloo while the fridge side kept warming up. A burnt-out defrost heater was behind it. He replaced it and explained how to keep the gasket clean. Running perfectly a month later.
We kept mopping a puddle from under the vegetable drawers. The culprit was a frozen drain tube. He cleared it, cleaned the drip tray and was gone within the hour.
Not one cube in three weeks from our ice maker. New fill valve and a fresh filter, and the bucket was full again the next morning. Polite, quick and fairly priced.
Run through these before booking. If every switch is on and it still runs warm, the fault is inside.
Power reaching the fridge
The interior light comes on. If not, reset the breaker and check the plug.
Temperature set right
Fridge around 3°C and freezer at -18°C, then give it a full day.
Vents left clear
Nothing stacked against the air openings at the back of each section.
Doors sealing properly
A sheet of paper closed in the door should resist when you pull it out.
