Burners that tick without catching, an element blazing at max whatever the dial says, an induction ring blind to your pot? A technician from nearby tracks down the faulty part and has supper simmering again.

Gas, coil, ceramic glass or induction, here are the six cooktop faults we see most often in the township.
A spark electrode cracked by heat, a cap sitting off centre, or ports gummed up by spilled sauce.
Moisture trapped below the top after cleaning, or a spark switch jammed behind its knob.
A coil burned through, a scorched and pitted terminal block, or a control switch passing no current.
The switch behind the knob has fused closed, so the element runs flat out whatever the dial says.
Cookware with no iron in the base, a failed power board, or a zone sensor reading wrong.
Partly plugged burner ports, a misbehaving regulator, or an air shutter closed too far.
Stove types we fix
Whether it came with the house or arrived on a delivery truck last month, chances are our technicians have already had one just like it apart on the workbench.
Glass and induction tops post a short code whenever they sense a problem. Find yours below.
Stuck button
The panel reads a key as held, often because of a drop of water. Dry it off and press Power.
Try this firstPan not detected
The pot is the wrong size or not magnetic. Centre a magnetic pan of the right size on the zone.
Try this firstSensor error
One of the cooktop's heat sensors has failed and needs testing.
Call a technicianCommunication error
The cooktop boards have stopped talking to one another.
Call a technicianZone overheated
A cooking zone shut itself off to protect the glass. Let it cool, then switch it back on.
Try this firstElement overheated
An element tripped its protection. Allow the cooktop to cool before using it again.
Try this firstDemo mode
Demo mode blocks all heating. Shut the circuit off for half a minute, then tap any control within three minutes.
Try this firstSupply voltage
Voltage reaching the cooktop is outside the normal range and needs checking.

(249) 502-9402Township kitchens with every burner working again.
Two gas burners just ticked without lighting. One electrode was cracked and the other simply needed a scrub. Every burner catches immediately now.
Our biggest glass-top ring only ran at full blast. A failed infinite switch, swapped well before supper. We were frying pierogies again by dinnertime.
Our induction top flashed an error whatever pan I tried. A new power board fixed it, and he pointed out which of my pots are induction-friendly.
Plenty of stove trouble comes down to a cap or a pan. Run through these first.
Power or gas on
If nothing works, reset the range breaker and make sure the gas shutoff is open.
Cap sitting flat
Burner cap lifted, head wiped and the cap set back level with no gap.
Ports clean
Once cool, ports brushed out and cleared with a sewing pin.
Right pan for the zone
A magnet sticks to the pot base on induction, and the size matches the ring.
